DREAMSCAPE

Technology is changing our industry, from the way we consume to communication through social media. Artificial Intelligence is playing a big role at the moment especially on a consumer and functional level, but in the future A.I will be fed with more information, by humans in a way that it could be more beneficial for us.

Predictive analytics are modelled after the idea that by recognising patterns in events that happened in the past, we can develop a framework, or model, by which we can predict events happening in the future.

The younger generation is more intrigued by the digital world. On a daily basis working on their digital identity through social media and engaging more into experiences. Looking from a future scenario perspective, A.I can generate all your data and exactly know how to work with all your data, to create an experience perfectly fitted to your imagination.

This will be the future of holidays, where we take a break from all the information we have to process all day long and come into our own fantasy.

THE EXPERIENCE

The experience takes someone to my future scenario and the idea behind this is that in the future anyone will be able to experience something like this, based on their own data, so it will be a personal experience fitted to your own imagination. To find peace in a world that feeds your imagination.

My ideas have come from a lot of research in various subjects like cartoons, dancehall, artificial/natural light, fantasy and sci-fi films, books about the implementation of technology in fashion, behavior, but mainly based on the idea of the implementation of artificial intelligence.

Dreamscape should give this more than only clothing/traditional feeling of fashion. Environments where you travel from artificial light to natural light, seeking in a way a kind of freedom the real world cannot offer at the moment or never. It plays with the current feeling where we are all searching for during these days due to COVID-19. A world where we could find our inner peace and feel fulfillment. The journey of an escape from reality in a world with changeable elements that goes in line with your always changing digital identity.

Dreamscape plays with reality and fantasy linked to personal stories or objects of myself.

DIGITAL CARE LABELS

I think it is important to show how much data I use in comparison in how much time.

  • Showing that I’m aware of the fact that I’m using a lot of files/data/energy to create digital garments.
  • I made a DIGITAL CARE LABEL, which not online gives information about the amount of data or time, but also in general about the garment/collection, like concept text, print, material and detail renders.

MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK RUSSIA

This collection is all about creating a new beginning by making small steps, no matter who you are or where you come from, to create a sustainable planet.

With a focus on variations of basic outfits, from a metal crop top to an a-symmetrical transparent bomber jack all located on one small futuristic island.

An environment that is in line with the idea of how everyone has their own little world, where they can make all small changes for a better future.

This is the start of a new beginning.

GARMENT MAGAZINE 2020

‘ Garment Magazine Issue 17 is about the scarf,
the perfect metaphor for life: malleable, colourful, available in different shapes and sizes and full of rich cultural influences. We are here to inspire you to not take life
AND fashion too seriously.’

For this issue of garment I created content for six pages in the magazine.
Based on the concept I made five different outfits and avatar, each fitted to a specific environment. Also, I implemented a scarf with each outfit including the logo of this issue of Garment magazine.

3D HYPERCRAFT MINOR

LAURA V.D KOOIJ x CHANDENIE POENIET

0-T0NIN plays with the principle of simulation into moving development, from which we look at the emotional side to create a happy feeling. We are inspired by the movement in nature and we see a similarity within technology, which both change and develop over time.

PROCESS

VIRTUAL/AUGMENTED REALITY MINOR

During this minor I worked for the company Frederik George together with two game developers and two software engineers. We created a concept which is called: Savile Row Next Gen., with this concept we wanted to bring people back to the physical store to be part of our experience and make a new kind of shopping experience where technology plays a big role.

For this project I created mostly the whole concept, worked on the styling and created the whole environment including objects, digital garments and small interactions.

This was the first time for me working with VR and AR [2019-2020]
